The German Soccer machine rolls on, mowing down everything in their path with the power of
They did not only win, but annihilated a strategically inept Argentinean side filled with talented players running around like chickens without their heads. And that is precisely what they needed - an intelligent head.
The Germans on the other hand had a plan and a shape to implement it. The difference between the Germans and the sides they have thrashed so far is, in my opinion, their coach Joachim Low. It appears to me he has sussed out their opponents weaknesses and come up with a plan that has enabled his team to exploit them mercilessly.
The strategy is not enough on its own and, with their young team devoid of big name stars, Germany seems to be able to execute the coaches plan with Teutonic precision. Because they are not weakened by big name super strikers hovering up front waiting for service from the midfield they seem able to get as many bodies into attack as defense. At one minute they are probing a panicking defense, the next they are snuffing out a breakaway attack.
It will need shrewd heads to counter them. Will it come from Spain or will it take the winners of the Uruguay v Netherlands Semi Final? My heart says it would be nice for the Netherlands to take the cup for the first time, my head says Germany will prevail. What do you think?
