Tonderai Chavhanga is back for the Lions

Lions Coach Dick Muir has made four changes for his side`s last match on tour in hope that they can turn their fortunes around against the Highlanders.

Nico Luus comes in for George Earle, Carlos Spencer replaces injured Burton Francis. Michael Killian takes over at fullback in place Earl Rose, who has shown nothing but poor form all season. However, the biggest chance is Tonderai Chavhanga replacing Wandile Mjekevu on wing.

Now this boy is quick, I mean really quick, probably in the top three of world rugby when he is fully fit. Unfortunately, that is just the problem. Since his debut for the Springboks way back where he scored a South African record six tries, he has underachieved.

Plagued by injuries he has spent more time off the field than on at the Stormers, moved to the Gauteng Lions and the same old story. But now he is fit again.

The Lions will be hoping Tonderai Chavhanga is back, and for rugby lovers around the world, we're hoping he's here to stay this time.

Lions team:
Michael Killian, Wigan Pekeur, Walter Venter, Doppies la Grange, Tonderai Chavhanga, Carlos Spencer, Jano Vermaak, Todd Clever, Derick Minnie, Cobus Grobbelaar (c), Franco van der Merwe, Nico Luus, Ross Geldenhuys, Hannes Franklin, JC Janse van Rensburg.
Reserves: Charles Emslie, Heinke van der Merwe, Willem Stoltz, Robert Kruger, JP Joubert, Wandile Mjekevu, Earl Rose.

Here is just a glimpse of what Chavhanga is capable of doing

Some people are just not meant to be playing rugby. Yes, he is a great athlete but far to fragile. He would have done better in athletics. He was miss managed from the start by the Stormers. Instead of building him up. they threw him to the wolves too soon.

avatar Chavhanga is still a good player. He now needs game time to increase his confidence. If he preforms well, he might even make the Bok setup again inplace of Mapoe

Go Lions, first win of the season!
